New Summer Work – Part 2 – Running
Posted on June 2nd, 2011 by Kamil Bialous.
This is a continuation of my previous post on this topic where I promised to put up some new stuff I've been shooting this spring/summer.
I've been visiting one location in particular and trying to learn to see it better. I find that each place has a way that it wants to be shown: its moods, colours (or lack thereof), contrasts, and little nuances like winds and clouds. I'm not trying to get all hippy on you and spoon feed you home made granola (nothing wrong with that, I love granola) but it's taken me almost 5 trips back to start realizing that I can't force my typical way of shooting on this environment. I can bring some style and swagger, but too much and the pictures don't look authentic.
And if I don't have authentic - what do I have? Enjoy.
New Summer Work – Yoga
Posted on May 26th, 2011 by Kamil Bialous.
Everywhere I go, I'm shooting personal work. While travelling, visiting or entertaining friends, getting a pint at my favorite pub, or going for a mind-clearing hike in the mountains - I'm camera in-hand, or at least in-pack, and shooting scenes and people that really inspire me to see in new ways, and create work that I want to be shooting for clients. A location that never ceases to amaze and inspire me to create new work is the west coast of Vancouver Island - Tofino being one of the easiest places to get to, but not the only.
So while surfing there recently, I set up a quick sunrise yoga shoot along a secluded stretch of beach. I wanted it to be really simple and speak to solitude, comfort, reflection, sunshine, and health. So check this out and let me know what you think!
I'm sitting on much more summer work that I can't wait to share with you all, little by little, so keep stopping by and say hi if you feel like it!
Cheers,
Kamil
Couple of Photos in Gripped Magazine
Posted on January 8th, 2011 by Kamil Bialous.
The December 2010/January 2011 issue of Gripped Climbing Magazine has a couple of my pretty pictures running it. The climber in both is my good buddy Dale Sood who managed to string a couple sentences together (and very beautifully so) and craft a great article about training toward goals in your climbing. Have a look/read. It should be on the stands now.
Here are the photos:
Also, here's a link to Dale article which you can ready online on Gripped site:
Good job Dale! Let's work more together!

Winter Season in Full Swing
Posted on January 8th, 2011 by Kamil Bialous.
One of my major motivations for moving out west was to surf (more) and ski (more). I've gotten out into the hills quite a few times now and was starting to feel like I had my ski legs back right before breaking my toe. So now it's a few weeks off before touring starts back up.
I have very rapidly lost the love of resort skiing and would much rather spend a couple hours touring up and find a couple nice lines down before I have to deal with any crowded skied-out groomed runs. But that's just me.
Peter and I found some good lines down the other day. Sunshine too. And no people.
Have a safe and powder-filled season.
